Andrea Bautil is a designer whose sense of style is enriched by her multicultural background and fueled by her commitment to contribute to a more sustainable built environment. As a designer she strives to offer an architecture which embraces the intersections of vernacular tradition and high tech problem solving.
Andrea holds a master’s degree in Architecture (MSc Arch) from Delft Technical University in the Netherlands and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Northeastern University in Boston. Her academic background enabled her to develop a profound understanding of the role one must assume as a designer today. Through investigations which provide formal and tectonic solutions to modern issues, paired with innovative material applications, her designs seek to demonstrate the opportunities that lie in the transition to a more circular economy.
She has worked for the Office of Metropolitan Architecture in New York, a rigorous experience where she gained a deeper understanding on the ins and outs of how high caliber designs come together. During her time at LOLA landscape architects in Rotterdam, she was able to establish her area of interest as being at the intersection of the built and the natural, considering both spheres in conjunction, highlighting the importance of using vegetation as a complimentary element of any architectural design.
